Part of upholstery is the joy of making, come & develop your skills, grow your confidence & JOY! In 2005 I decided to give up an entirely uninspiring career & learn something new. Under the guidance of an amazing tutor I fell in love with this craft, soon becoming obsessed with fabrics (more of an addiction now!). After about 3 years of being tutored I finally built the confidence & belief in myself & started Sussex Upholstery as a business.
I've met & worked for some amazing, fun & interesting clients with unusual projects & in 2016 started teaching. This part of the business is now booming & I love it! It's the best feeling in the world to enable another person to make, craft or sew something & give them confidence in a skill that was previously out of their comfort zone. Past students have gone on to be inspired to start their own businesses from the courses in Upholstery, Furniture Making & Interior Design & I am so proud of all of them.
Wether or not you are looking for a new hobby or a new purpose, like I was all those years ago, the courses are a great starting place.
