Inspired Woodwork is a small company focusing on producing high quality, hand-crafted, bespoke joinery, kitchens, fitted and free-standing furniture. We pride ourselves on having a design process which gains an understanding of your vision and then works with you to produce an ergonomic and aesthetically pleasing product. We specialise in presenting our products to a high standard using our expertise in a range of finishes including paints, varnishes, lacquers, stains and waxes.
My name is Michael Gostling and I set up Inspired Woodwork to fill a gap that I feel has appeared in the furniture market. We make bespoke furniture using traditional methods. We create individually designed, hand-crafted quality products which will last for years to come. I studied Design Technology at college, followed by an apprenticeship in Traditional Bench Joinery and Wood Machining.
During this period, I entered and won the South East Regional Skillbuild Competition. Throughout my apprenticeship I gained a great insight into the traditional manufacturing techniques for windows, doors and many items of furniture.

In the design phase, you get to make all the decisions, which means we can produce exactly what you have in mind.
These decisions include the design, function, materials and finishes.
However, if you would prefer, you can be guided with suggestions to ensure the finished item is fit for purpose and the best both ergonomically and aesthetically.
