At that time, we specialised in hand built traditional 'clinker' boats, the direct descendants of Viking longships and even older vessels.
Clinker, or Lapstrake, is a boat building method where the edges of the hull planks overlap each other, and is quite an art form with steam-bent oak ribs, copper roved mahogany, and larch planking all used in the process.
