Based in the heart of Dorset we are surrounded by beautiful trees giving us inspiration to design and make fabulous furniture. Jamie Ross creates high quality bespoke furniture. His understanding and love of working with wood began with a five-year apprenticeship with Rupert Brown, the renowned cabinetmaker. Here he learned the craft of traditional bespoke furniture design and making, from wood seasoning and selection to intricate detailing such as inlay and fine carving.
Over the past ten years, Jamie has established a successful furniture business in Dorset, working for clients across London and the South of England. His attention to detail and knowledge of the intricacies of wood sets him apart, and he is able to create a piece from wood he has felled, sawn and seasoned himself. Jamie particularly enjoys working closely with his clients from conception to conclusion.
The result is a beautifully crafted, unique piece of furniture designed to the client's exact specifications that will last for generations.

At Jamie Ross Furniture we try to primarily use British hardwoods, having been greatly influenced by the spectacular Oak and Ash surrounding his workshop on the Stock Gaylard Estate.
Selecting the wood is an integral part of the process as no piece of wood is the same and its individual character is evaluated for the strength, stability and desired finish of the piece.
We are always delighted to make a piece out timber felled from your property provided it meets all requirements.

My wife and I asked Jamie whether he would be prepared to make us a two pedestal dining room table.
He had been recommended by a good friend and we had also seen an example of his work so we had no hesitation in making our request.
We had an initial meeting at which we discussed the wood to be used, English walnut and the size of the table 10' 6 x 4' 6. Jamie then sketched out a design, which we agreed upon.
He then presented us with a detailed timetable and cost breakdown for the project and at our request involved us in the wood selection process, where his knowledge and passion for the different varieties of wood was plain to see.
