He eventually took over the successful business from Colin developing it further whilst continuing to provide the highest levels of expertise to this day.
As a brief interlude, Jamie was asked to take on the role of Assistant tutor on the the Post Graduate Diploma in Furniture Conservation at West Dean College, West Sussex.
He helped train and guide many students before turning his full time efforts back to his business in Oxfordshire.

Our aim at Chatfield Furniture conservation is the offer the very highest restoration skills carried out with a conservation ethos.
Most of our clients require their items to function within a domestic environment on a daily basis.
Therefore, they need to be structurally sound, functional and as far as they're concerned, they need to look as though they have been well cared for over many generations to reflect the money they've spent with us.
That said, some of our clients do require conservation.

From time to time our clients ask us to design and make new furniture.
We primarily use a company in London to provide the initial design service.
Many projects have been designed in this way but we also make faithful copies of period items.
If a client wants a second linen press or a modern media cabinet to mirror a period cabinet they have then we'll measure the original and provide a faithful copy.

We have split out case studies into two separate areas, one to show you some of our recent furniture restoration projects undertaken, and the other to highlight our skills in cabinet making.
Both case study pages have examples of projects before, during and after completion so you can compare our work.
