The Dormy House has come a long way since 1981 when John Valenzia retired from the Army and founded the business with his wife Eileen.
The pair pursued their passion for making furniture, starting with a simple, slot together Instant Table handmade in the garage adjacent to their home 'The Dormy House'.
The design quickly became a phenomenon and it soon became apparent that John and his 'jigsaw' were not going to keep up with the extraordinary volume of orders.
To satisfy the demand, they expanded their furniture range and premises as they continued to do what they love.
