Angilou Genuine French Furniture and Angilou Upholstery Ltd are based in the small hamlet of Octon between Driffield & Scarborough in the East Riding of Yorkshire. Our dedicated showroom and workshop is located in the old barns which we were renovated in 2013 and 2014. Matthew, Hannah and family lived in France near Perpignan for six years and over that time grew to love and appreciate the elegance of craftsmanship of french style.
Our focus and passion is for genuine antique french furniture however we also buy vintage and retro items that catch our eye that we believe will add interesting additions to any home no matter what your tastes are. We also renovate and transform furniture, giving once forgotten pieces a new lease of life that can hopefully be enjoyed by generations to follow.
We source all of our finds from local flea markets, french auction houses and from several contacts found during our almost 7 years of living and working in the south of France. We renovate and reupholster the majority of our pieces to new and take individual client commissions on selected items.
