Founded in 2010, Another Country is an award-winning British furniture company that designs and makes contemporary furniture and home accessories in the UK and Europe. Since our inception, we have endeavoured to design, source materials, manufacture and pack our products in as sustainably a way as possible, and we are on a continual journey to refine and improve how we do things.
We call this designing for the 'The Natural Home' (and Natural Workplace). Our aesthetic is inspired by archetype, calling on the familiar and unpretentious forms of British country vernacular style, Shaker, traditional Scandinavian and Japanese woodwork for inspiration. We re-interpret the spirit and functionality of these honest forms of furniture for a modern customer.

This first collection from Another Country was as clear and simple an interpretation of our original intention in furniture manufacturing as we could manage.
We took familiar forms of craft furniture and pared them back to their most basic elements, using the most efficient workshop techniques and the best quality wood.
We are concerned with efficiency, both yours and ours.
Each piece of furniture in Series One is made in a way that limits wasted material and time (our leg systems are universal), that is easy to transport (flat-pack for large pieces) and versatile (meaning your furniture gets more than one job done).
We took familiar forms of craft furniture and pared them back to their most basic elements, using the most efficient workshop techniques and the best quality wood.

Like Series One's, Series Two pieces are functional, timeless and versatile designs, however their form and material palette makes them is very different.
The clean-cut, angular forms of Series Two were inspired by the no-nonsense style of Japanese and Scandinavian furniture, and the pale woods favoured in contemporary Belgian craft production.
Using only the best quality, solid wood, for this collection we've employed a winning combination of ash and walnut.
Like Series One's, Series Two pieces are functional, timeless and versatile designs, however their form and material palette makes them is very different.

Its contemporary yet archetypal design and high quality solid timber construction ensures its longevity whilst its clear-oiled finish makes easy job of ongoing maintenance keeping the collection looking as good as new.
