Glasgow Wood Recycling
Glasgow Wood Recycling is a social enterprise and charity established in 2007. We are committed to reducing the amount of wood needlessly going to landfill by finding creative and socially inclusive ways to reuse this valuable natural resource.

The wood waste that we collect from all over Glasgow is gathered and sorted at our South Street workshop, we then reuse it to make quality furniture and design bespoke pieces for home, businesses and social sector organisations, anything from tables in bars to eco-gardens in schools!Through these activities, and at the heart of what we do, we provide volunteer and training opportunities to local people, as a practical way of tackling unemployment and social exclusion.

Glasgow Wood Recycling is accredited by Revolve, a quality standard for second-hand stores in Scotland awarded to stores that meet high standards in safety, cleanliness and service, giving shoppers that extra reassurance to shop second-hand first.
Services
Glasgow Wood Recycling offer a cheap and convenient wood collection service, which provides a sustainable alternative to skip hire and landfill.
All of our collected wood waste is recycled or reused to create quality furniture and bespoke pieces at our South Street Workshop.
We are committed to reducing disposal costs, reducing waste going to landfill and to creating jobs for local people.
No matter what your situation, we want to offer you a sustainable solution.
Our collection charges vary depending on the amount, quality and location of your wood waste.
Volunteers are at the heart of Glasgow Wood Recycling, playing an active and valuable role in all aspects of the enterprise.
There is a wide range of ways to get involved and we are committed to making volunteering a positive experience from which all concerned can benefit.
Volunteers don't need to have previous experience, just a willingness and desire to help and get involved.
We welcome people from all backgrounds - and provide training and support to help you make the most of your volunteer experience.
WOOD Unlimited is our Big Lottery funded training programme which aims to tackle social isolation through woodwork.
It is a 6-week health and well-being themed course aimed at reducing the impact of loss, isolation and loneliness.
The scheme involves a combination of practical woodwork skills, conservation activities and community projects.
It aims to support participants as they make community connections to enable continued participation in volunteering and local groups and events.
Following on from the success of our previous training programme Making Wood Work, this is another exciting chance for our volunteers to meet new people, learn new skills and gain hands-on experience of a craft trade.
The initial consultation and site visit will allow us to discuss your priorities for the project which will form the basis of the design brief.
You will be able to view our portfolio and discuss the design process, so you have a full understanding of the stages involved.
We will then create a design brief which outlines the scope of the project and the desired results.
This will include the objectives and goals of the new design, budget and schedule, overall style/look and any definite "dont's".
