Saving you money: Ipswich Furniture Project is a furniture re-use charity which provides affordable, good quality furniture to households in Ipswich and the surrounding area. Much of what we provide is second-hand and has been donated by other households in the area, who no longer want or need it. Saving the environment: Re-use not only enables our customers to purchase good quality low cost household items but by extending the lifespan of the items we sell it helps reduce environmental impact.
Shop with us: Our Ipswich town centre shop sells a wide range of household and electrical items, including: sofas, dinning furniture, beds, wardrobes, cookers, fridges/freezers and washing machines. We offer a prompt, low cost delivery service meaning you can have the items you want delivered to your door when you need them. Donate your items to us: You can also support the work of our charity by donating household items that you no longer want or need.
By doing this we can extend the life of these items and enable someone else to benefit from them.

Services
Ipswich Furniture Project is a registered charity formed 1989 with the express desire to alleviate material deprivation and poverty through the provision quality furniture and white goods to low income households.
Through re-use, recycling and refurbishment we help households in need access furniture, white goods and other household items at affordable prices - providing everything from a single item, to a fully furnished home.
Material deprivation is a key issue for those on low incomes and can lead to households going without essential items such as cookers, beds, dinning furniture and washing machines, or taking on debt in order to buy essential items from traditional retailers.

We collect donations of reusable household furniture and some electrical items free of charge for resale in our Westgate Street shop.
In most cases donated reusable items are provided to low income families either by a grant or sold at a reduced price.
Some items are sold to the general public to help fund our efforts.
We can only reuse good quality useable items, as there is a cost to us for disposing of, or recycling other items.
We provide a chargeable scrap collection service for electrical appliances that cannot be reused.

Our volunteers are at the heart of Ipswich Furniture Project, from the Charity's Trustees, to those assisting us in the collection and delivery of furniture and white goods.
They support all aspects of our work, not just on the vans, but helping the running our retail outlets, electrical repair and cleaning, to supporting our IT and HR functions.
We have a wide selection of roles available to volunteers and also offer tailored opportunities to utilise individual talents.
We are committed to matching volunteers' interests, skills and aspirations to the roles we assign to ensure a positive and rewarding experience wherever possible.
