Our charity supports households from across the Gateshead Borough, helping them to lead safe, settled and comfortable home lives during times of hardship. This is made possible thanks to the generosity of residents who donate furniture and appliances to us, which we collect free of charge in and around Tyne and Wear. We have no strict eligibility criteria in place at Foundations to access our low-cost items.
Our aim is to support any household that is experiencing furniture poverty, for any reason*. Many of the households we help are in receipt of benefits due to low income, but we also help lots of households that are not receiving a benefit but might be struggling financially for other reasons. We also have furniture and appliances that anyone can buy on Facebook Marketplace.
