James Hardy trained in the highly skilled art of traditional cabinet making and went on to set up our business, J S Hardy cabinet makers in1982. Through exceptional work over thirty years we have built a strong regional reputation for high quality cabinet making and design. Our bespoke cupboards and cabinets are handmade in wood and stone. Man-made and recycled materials are also used where appropriate, and we source ethical and ecologically sound components, methods and finishes wherever possible.
We design and create beautiful bespoke kitchens, luxury bathrooms, bedrooms and living spaces which work within old or contemporary houses. We have long experience of working in ancient listed buildings, period or modern properties and in liaising with planning and regulatory bodies.

We take on small individual commissions such as a freestanding handmade larder cupboard, to the larger scale projects involving small building works and complete house interior design.
We cover all aspects of the project from interior design to laying wood or stone floors, fitting cabinets and cupboards, installing baths, showers and appliances, including the electrical wiring and the plumbing to current building regulations.
We create structures which enable the space outside the house to be used and enjoyed throughout most of the year.
