The Robinson-Gay family have become synonymous with traditional handmade furniture since Stephen Robinson-Gay set up his workshop in Northumberland 30 years ago. Commissioning a piece of furniture or a kitchen may seem daunting but we advise every step of the way. Each commission begins with an idea; a certain space; architects plans or drawings.
Services
The Robinson-Gay family have become synonymous with traditional handmade furniture since Stephen Robinson-Gay set up his workshop in Northumberland 30 years ago.
Now very much a family business, Stephen concentrates on design and the restoration of antique furniture while Jason heads their team of cabinet makers in the production workshops at Wallington & Kirkharle.
The furniture range is extensive, from faithful copies of antique originals to contemporary kitchens and offices.
Most of our work is commissioned but examples are for sale from the gallery in Hexham or via the website.

Stephen and Jason design, make and oversee each project from start to finish.
All our craftsmen have served an apprenticeship within the company.
Great emphasis is placed on employing traditional techniques for the furniture making.
Mortise and tenon jointing, exposed dovetails, burr banding and using the natural grain of the wood are characteristic of our work.
